Dear God.com..New Year Prayer for my Friends and Family

Dear God.com

Every single evening
As I'm lying here in bed,
This tiny little Prayer
Keeps running through my head:

God bless all my family & friends
Wherever they may be,
Keep them warm
And safe from harm
For they're so close to me.

And God, there is one more thing
I wish that you could do;
Hope you don't mind me asking,
Please bless my computer too.

Now I know that it's unusual
To Bless a motherboard,
But listen just a second
While I explain it to you, Lord.

You see, that little metal box
Holds more than odds and ends;
Inside those small compartments
Rest so many of my friends.

I know so much about them
By the kindness that they give,
And this little scrap of metal
Takes me in to where they live.

By faith is how I know them
Much the same as you.
We share in what life brings us
And from that our friendships grew.

Please take an extra minute
From your duties up above,
To bless those in my address book
That's filled with so much love.

Home from MSA Conference...Wives went to Solvang

Yes another nice trip to my hubby's MSA conference. This year we went to Santa Maria, California. And this was the day the wives went shopping in Solvang.

It was a cute German/ Danish town...lots of shops and lots of walking.

Had a nice lunch...shopped a little.

Santa Maria was a nice place to visit...also saw Santa Barabara, Pismo Beach, and got to visit 4 Wineries.

Now back home and back to designing ...nice to be home !

On the first day, God created the dog and said, "Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years."The dog said, "That's a long time to be barking. How about only ten years and I'll give you back the other ten?"So God agreed....... On the second day, God created the monkey and said, "Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I'll give you a twenty-year life span." The monkey said, "Monkey tricks for twenty years? That's a pretty long time to perform. How about I give you back ten like the dog did?"And God agreed...... On the third day, God created the cow and said, "You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer's family. For this, I will give you a life span of sixty years."The cow said, "That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. A friend of mine sent this to me...I thought it was good to know !!

One day a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a
trip to the country with the firm purpose of showing his son how
poor people can be.

They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would
be considered a very poor family. On their return from their
trip, the father asked his son, "How was the trip?"

"It was great, Dad."

"Did you see how poor people can be?" the father asked.

"Oh Yeah" said the son.

"So what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father proudly.

The son answered:

I saw that we have one dog and they had four.

We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden
and they have a creek that has no end.

We have imported lanterns in our garden
and they have the stars at night.

Our patio reaches to the front yard
and they have the whole horizon.

We have a small piece of land to live on
and they have fields that go beyond our sight.

We have servants who serve us, but they serve others.

We buy our food, but they grow theirs.

We have walls around our property to protect us,
they have friends to protect them."

With this the boy's father was speechless.

Then his son added,
"Thanks, Dad, for showing me how poor we are."

Too many times we forget what we have
and concentrate on what we don't have.

What is one's persons worthless object
is another's prize possession.

It is all based on one's perspective.

Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for all
the bounty we have instead of worrying about wanting more.

Take joy in what you have and see the treasure in it.

A young couple moved into a new neighborhood

The next morning while they were eating breakfast,

The young woman saw her neighbor hanging the wash outside.

‘That laundry is not very clean,' she said.

‘She doesn’t know how to wash correctly.

Perhaps she needs better laundry soap.'

Her husband looked on, but remained silent.

Every time her neighbor would hang her wash to dry,

The young woman would make the same comments.

About one month later, the woman was surprised to see

a nice clean wash on the line and said to her husband:

'Look, she has learned how to wash correctly.

I wonder who taught her this.'

The husband said,'I got up early this morning and

Strips of tea dyed cloth

Old buttons you found

Cinnamon stick dust

And even dented signs

stuck in the ground

Trash to Treasures

And old torn up lace

These things we make all grungy

to put on our dolls face

We sand and paint .

Bald headed santas

And cloth candy canes

Snowball mittens

An even angels wings

Whether you sell or swap these things

Prim swaps make your heart sing

Prim things hanging on your Christmas tree

even the lights are prim - ooh...we

Ain't nothing better that finding a

Prim Treasure Site

A Blog or a Forum...of a friend

If they ain't Prim... they ain't right

Not looking for folkart or country you say

It's only a Prim site for you

Prim makes everything...ok

There's so much talent and wonderful things

that other folks make ...

But if they aint got prim...you seem to just go away

checkered ribbon and a handpainted atc aceo card ,

How do I handle this Turkey ...

Thanksgiving...1 day out of the year you know you are either cooking or going some where to eat.
You know it going to be a big meal, and leftovers, and lots of desserts.
You know there are going to lots ...and I mean lots of dishes & cleaning.
You know someboday has to shop for all that food.
OMG....Who started this mess?

How to handle this Turkey Poem

They tell me it was Pilgrims & Indians
But this I cannot believe
I know that Indians ate Buffalo
And wore feathers indeed

Why would Pilgrims cook a turkey
And make a pumpkin pie
I just think someone is wrong
Surely this must be a lie ?

Sitting at a table
With stuffing and cranberries
Eating rolls with butter
Please pass the Giblet gravy

Long ago they say
That this was a good thing
For these two people to Give Thanks
But its hard on us today

We have to buy the food and cook it
And we in a recession
Everything we need for this dinner
We need to count our blessings

We invite folks to eat it all
And carve the bird ...we must
The folks show up that get on your nerves
On this you all can trust
.

If I had lived back in those days
I sure would have said something
Are you Pilgrims crazy, I'd say
Inviting these folk all fussing

Now I'm on a diet
Dang I have to be
Or pray
From now to New Year Eve
It all because of this day
Now guess who has to
I roll up their sleeve

Now I'm doing all the dishes
Yes it's little old me
I alway open my mouth

For Thanksgiving is about giving
Boy I think I might cry
Just sitting here having some Turkey
Boy this bird is dry

I hope you can handle your Turkey
And don't gain a pound indeed
And that my little poem
Turned your Turkey Day indeed
I hope it put a smile on your face
As Turkey never leave the ground

Veteran Day Poem

My Dad was a veteran ( Army) , I miss him a lot &
my wonderful husband is a veteran ( Navy)
I wanted to write a poem for all veterans.
Thanks for all some did...and Thanks for all some are doing.

I was walking down the street one day
When standing in front of me
Was a tall man in uniform
His face I could not see
Folks were gathered around him
Talking all at once
He just was smiling back
While dranking some fruit punch
And up and down the street
You could hear people say
Yes today a special day
Let's celebrate hoo-ray
All the folks we honored
With flags...long may they wave
It was just our way of saying Thanks
For all they do to save
American way of living
For the Land of the Free
A veteran , can be Army, Navy or
Marine, , he can be you or me.
So when you see a veteran
Standing near by
Offer him a hand shake
He made it home
Don't cry !

Skunk Hollow Update

It sad to hear...that UMI sites are not got to be up anymore. Skunk Hollow was one of there sites and my good friend Lisa's site. She was kind enough to have me on her site for the last 3 or 4 years. She is such a wonderful designer...her patterns will still be available to buy on Pattern Mart and and Wymzee and a few other places.
And she will be making a new Skunk Hollow website soon. But until then...the site wil remain open!!
However my doodles will not be back on Skunk Hollow. Time for something new...I have been painting a lot of my doodles and I like showing you just what they look like painted. Love to have someone do some stiticheries of them maybe. I have drawn tons of doodles...and think I will soon open a doodle blog that you can buy my doodles on. Or a website. But for now...you can still get some of my doodles at this place below.

My Birthday Weekend Has Started

OUR GRAND KIDS ARE THE BEST....

Well my Grandkids came yesterday...a 5 year old and an 11 year old. Very helpful kids, they would do it all. Everything I need they are there. Loving caring and just the best. Yes I am bragging !
But they really are two great kids...and we are proud !
I started celebrating my birthday with them yesterday. And today they helped my DH bake me a cake ( well 2 cakes) first cake died !...LOL So they had to do another, but that one made it ! And DH cooked dinner...BBQ Pork Chops, Corn on the Cob, Potato Salad...and for the kids Cornbread with honey !
At dinner my grandson said...I am drinking lemonade like Grandma ...because it's her birthday.
And the dinner my DH made was wonderful...
He not so bad either...I got lucky there as well... Think I will keep him too !
Then ...my granddaughter whispered to her Papa...take me shopping. Off they went to a store, back in 30 minutes ( DH does not like to shop)...LOL and she had bought Grandma a present... ( it was a new wallet)I cried like a baby.
My granddaughter spend her money...not having her Papa pay...but her money on a gift for me. I am so proud of her. And she said to me... that is from me and my brother Tahriq. How sweet...and my birthday weekend is started. Off with a bang !
Kids will be here until Saturday.
We have a reunion picnic on Saturday. And my Birthday weekend will end.
I love my present ! Thanks Babycakes !! ( What I call my granddaughter also ) .

How much do you know about our history ?

Have you ever wondered what happened to the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence?
Five signers were captured by the British as traitors, and tortured before they died.
Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned.
Two lost their sons serving in the Revolutionary Army; another had two sons captured.
Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or hardships of the Revolutionary War.
They signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor.

What kind of men were they?

Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists.
Eleven were merchants, nine were farmers and large plantation owners ; men of means, well educated, but they signed the Declaration of Independence knowing full well that the penalty would be death if they were captured.

Carter Braxton of Virginia, a wealthy planter and trader, saw his ships swept from the seas by the British Navy.
He sold his home and properties to pay his debts, and died in rags.
Thomas McKeam was so hounded by the British that he was forced to move his family almost constantly. . . .He served in the Congress without pay, and his family was kept in hiding.
His possessions were taken from him,
and poverty was his reward.

Vandals or soldiers looted the properties of Dillery, Hall, Clymer, Walton, Gwinnett, Heyward, Ruttledge, and Middleton.

At the battle of Yorktown , Thomas Nelson, Jr., noted that the British General Cornwallis had taken over the Nelson home for his headquarters. . . . . . He quietly urged General George Washington to open fire. . . The home was destroyed, and Nelson died bankrupt.

Francis Lewis had his home and properties destroyed. . . The enemy jailed his wife, and she died within a few months.
John Hart was driven from his wife's bedside as she was dying. . . .Their 13 children fled for their lives. His fields and his gristmill were laid to waste. For more than a year he lived in forests and caves, returning home to find his wife dead and his children vanished.

So, take a few minutes while enjoying your 4th of July holiday and silently thank these patriots.
It's not much to ask for the price they paid.

Remember: freedom is never free!

It's time we get the word out that patriotism is NOT a sin,
and the Fourth of July has more to it than beer, picnics, and baseball games.

Grand kids warm your hearts....these are pics of our grandson Tahriq's last year birthday Party...
What a day...we were at this park from
10am until 5 pm. I am way to old for this...LOL
But he had a great time...and that is what matters.

2009...Now we have 2010 to look forward to....Oh dear !

Our grandson loves this place near our home town called a pumpkin patch...
So that is where we had his party last year.
He had his sister there...his Grandma Sandra and Papa Tom and his Dad and his girlfriend and her two kids.
Wonderful BD cake and lots of presents. We paid for all the kids to ride all the rides.

One of my favorite blogs to read is the Skunk Hollow...Lisa is a wonderful doll maker. If you take in to account she sews them all by hand. They are truely amazing. And she also sells the pattern to every doll she makes. Plus she live about 65 miles from me...and shares her website with me for the last 3 or 4 years. What a sweetie...
Liz Revit the person who "photo tagged" me is also a favorite of mine from her painting to her jewelry, I am surrounded by talent. Thanks a lot Liz... I needed this for sure ! LOL

So I decided to make this Scrooge poem to go with it...we all have a Scrooge in our lives. And this is what I have to say about mine...

I live with Scrooge everyday

365 days I have dismay

He never want to give presents or a kind thoughts

He never ask friends over

Or lets his guard down

At home you think you can enjoy, entertain, ok

But living with Scrooge that will happen... no way

Give a party and Scrooge kicks folks out

And never a kind word comes out of his mouth

Only two little kids can get to his heart...his grand son and granddaughter

Make Scrooge do these things

He even put lights on the tree, and wraps presents for them

Miss posting....Hello all !

Oh my gosh...do I miss posting.
I have been ill for a while, then busy as a beaver. Then
we took the grandkids to the zoo.
Oh my gosh I had to walk and
walk, I never saw so many animals in my life.
My grandson loved it, he goes around making lion noises
all the time, and he loves zebras.
That is how we spend July the 5th.
After the zoo we went to see ...Transformers. Not a bad movie.
Oh and my DH birthday was a few days before that....and we went to Famous Daves BBQ for dinner with friends and family. Then to Jackson to play slots....I won a little...lol
DH did as well....now he is the same age as me...but not for long, I am older....LOL
What is everyone doing...making all kinds of goodies, I have been drawing
doodles somewhat. Hoping to get back into it .

Monterey Aquarium Trip with grandkids

Yep we did it again...I must be getting to old for these trip.
Boy was this a day...I could hardly walk the next day...and dh too...LOL

My dh and I last week took my grandaughter and grandson to Monterey Aquarium. Our grandaughter had been there before....over 6 years ago when my dh and I took her, but as I thought she did not remember any of it.

So this trip was great for her. It was all new in her mind...and our grandson, he is the "fish nut" we call him. He love fish so much that we thought...this would be right up his alley. It was!!

Of course it is quite expensive that day costed us little over $200 not including gas.

But they both are worth it.

Of course my grandson had a cough...yep you guessed it I go the cough and it turned in to a week in bed. That is why I am just getting this posted.

I will be posting more soon.

Hope everyone is well and making all kinds of goodies.

When I saw Lisa pattern finished... Tom Cat, he was to much...seemed like he said , What Crow ?

I asked her. Would you like to see it in a doodle ? Then you can use the doodle to make a stitchery or painting or rug, maybe needle felt , or and ATC card and so on. she said go for it. And this is what we got. If you have never used a doodles they can be used for anything.

Helpful Hints for 2009

Helpful Hints ...Did you know?

1. Peel a banana from the bottom and you won't have to pick the little 'stringy things' off of it.
That's how the primates do it.
2. Take your bananas apart when you get home from the store.
If you leave them connected at the stem, they ripen faster.
3. Store your opened chunks of cheese in aluminum foil.
It will stay fresh much longer and not mold!
4. Peppers with 3 bumps on the bottom are sweeter and better for eating. Peppers with 4 bumps on the bottom are firmer and better for cooking.
5. Add a teaspoon of water when frying ground beef. It will help pull the grease away from the meat while cooking.
6. To really make scrambled eggs or omelets rich add a couple of spoonfuls of sour cream, cream cheese, or heavy cream in and then beat them up.
7. For a cool brownie treat, make brownies as directed.
Melt Andes mints in double broiler and pour over warm brownies.
Let set for a wonderful minty frosting.
8. Add garlic immediately to a recipe if you want a light taste of garlic and at the end of the recipe if your want a stronger taste of garlic.
9. Leftover snickers bars from Halloween make a delicious dessert. Simply chop them up with the food chopper. Peel, core and slice a few apples. Place them in a baking dish and sprinkle the chopped candy bars over the apples. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes!!! Serve alone or with vanilla ice cream. Yummm!
10. Reheat Pizza Heat up leftover pizza in a nonstick skillet on top of the stove, set heat to med-low and heat till warm. This keeps the crust crispy. No soggy micro pizza. This really works !
11. Easy Deviled Eggs
Put cooked egg yolks in a zip lock bag. Seal, mash till they are all broken up. Add remainder of ingredients, reseal, keep mashing it up mixing thoroughly, cut the tip of the baggy, squeeze mixture into egg.
Just throw bag away when done easy clean up.
12. Expanding Frosting ...
When you buy a container of cake frosting from the store, whip it with your mixer for a few minutes.
You can double it in size.
You get to frost more cake/cupcakes with the same amount.
You also eat less sugar and calories per serving.
13. Reheating refrigerated bread...
To warm biscuits, pancakes, or muffins that were refrigerated, place them in a microwave with a cup of water.
The increased moisture will keep the food moist and help it reheat faster. 14. Newspaper weeds away ...
Start putting in your plants, work the nutrients in your soil. Wet newspapers, put layers around the plants overlapping as you go cover with mulch and for- get about weeds.
Weeds will get through some gardening plastic they will not get through wet newspapers for a long time.
15. Broken Glass ...
Use a wet cotton ball or Q-tip to pick up the small shards of glass you can't see easily.
16. No More Mosquitoes ...
Place a dryer sheet in your pocket. It will keep the mosquitoes away.
17. Squirrel Away...
To keep squirrels from eating your plants, sprinkle your plants with cayenne pepper. The cayenne pepper doesn't hurt the plant and the squirrels won't come near it.
18. Flexible vacuum...
To get something out of a heat register or under the fridge add an empty paper towel roll or empty gift wrap roll to your vacuum. It can be bent or flattened to get in nar- row openings.
19. Reducing Static Cling ...
Pin a small safety pin to the seam of your slip and you will not have a clingy skirt or dress. Same thing works with slacks that cling when wearing panty hose. Place pin in seam of slacks and ... ta da! ... static is gone.
20.Measuring Cups...
Before you pour sticky substances into a measuring cup, fill with hot water. Dump out the hot water, but don't dry cup. Next, add your ingredient, such as peanut butter, and watch how easily it comes right out.
21. Foggy Windshield...
Hate foggy windshields? Buy a chalkboard eraser and keep it in the glove box of your car. When the window s fog, rub with the eraser! Works better than a cloth!
22. Reopening envelope...
If you seal an envelope and then realize you forgot to include something inside, just place your sealed envelope in the freezer for an hour or two. Viola! It unseals easily.
23. Conditioner ...
Use your hair conditioner to shave your legs. It's cheaper than shaving cream and leaves your legs really smooth. It's also a great way to use up the conditioner you bought but didn't like when you tried it in your hair. 24. Goodbye Fruit Flies...
To get rid of pesky fruit flies, take a small glass, fill it 1/2' with Apple Cider Vinegar and 2 drops of dish washing liquid; mix well. You will find those flies drawn to the cup and gone forever!
25. Get Rid of Ants...
Put small piles of cornmeal where you see ants. They eat it, take it 'home,' can't digest it so it kills them. It may take a week or so, especially if it rains, but it works and you don't have the worry about pets or small children being harmed!
26. INFO ABOUT CLOTHES DRYERS...
The heating unit went out on my dryer! The gentleman that fixes things around the house for us told us that he wanted to show us something and he went over to the dryer and pulled out the lint filter. It was clean. (I always clean the lint from the fil- ter after every load clothes.) He told us that he wanted to show us something; he took the filter over to the sink and ran hot water over it. The lint filter is made of a mesh material ... I'm sure you know what your dryer's lint filter looks like. Well ... the hot water just sat on top of the mesh! It didn't go through it at all! He told us that dryer sheets cause a film over that mesh that's what burns out the heating unit. You can't SEE the film, but it's there. It's what is in the dryer sheets to make your clothes soft and static free ... that nice fragrance too. You know how they can feel waxy when you take them out of the box ... well this stuff builds up on your clothes and on your lint screen. This is also what causes dryer units to potentially burn your house down with it! He said the best way to keep your dryer working for a very long time (and to keep your electric bill lower) is to take that filter out and wash it with hot soapy water and an old toothbrush (or other brush) at least every six months. He said that makes the life of the dryer at least twice as long! How about that!
...Wow... Learn something new everyday!

Last Christmas...This Christmas 2008 Poem

Last Christmas 2007...my DH and I took our grandkids on the Christmas Train...
It was wonderful, My Granddaughter was a reindeer and my Grandson was Santa's Buddy...all the way home.
We had Hot Chocolate and Cookies and sang songs, and the elves told stories. And Santa had a visit with each child on the train personally. It was worth the money to see there faces glow.
Now this year we will make new memories....do a few things different,
We will treasure all the time with them...This Christmas !

Don't know about you but I shop for Christmas all year long.

This is one of my favorite displays above ...I have this small area with snowballs, kind of funny since ...being in California I normally would say we have no snow...however ...Candy of Howling Moon lives in Palmdale about 350 miles away from me, Southern California and had 1 foot of snow. Brrrrrrrr...Makes me cold just thinking of it...Oh at it was 26 degrees here last few days .
Ouch !

In my dining room I added this tiny Partridge in a Pear Feather Tree this year...

This is the largest tree...7 ft....I make this one a fancy tree as my granddaughter says... matches my hanging quilt nicely I think ...

This is the tinyest tree in the great room my favorite...hardly any decorting...LOL and it done !

My Favorite tree is this kitchen tree...I add more ornie each year...but think if I add more next year I need a bigger tree...LOL

As I started to decorate the hallway ...well I kind of keep going...long hallway ! LOL

Well I did a little more decorating than I planned to do.....tree by tree...yep I got carried away again...and again... I ended up with 16 trees...yes there are 3 more tree I did not show you all...
I just could not stop putting them up.

Well it's for the grandkids...Yea sure...LOL

The whole time I was working on it my DH was saying Bah Humbug.

But ...I like it !

My feet ( if I had feet)...hurt and I soak um in a good ole foots bath

Peppermill Suite... Trip

Well I got a FREE (Comped)trip to stay at the Peppermill Casino and Hotel in Reno this pass weekend.

It was so nice. If you go to Reno I surely recommend those Suites. I brought back this postcard picture. This is what our room looked like. It was OUTSTANDING!! Very large room...

42" Plasma flat screen TV in the room and 27" plasma flat screen in the bathroom. Whirlpool tubs and telephone in the potty.. And the most high fluffy bed. ( That was the only bad point for us...little to fluffy...LOL ) But we dealt with it... And a safe and honor bar. Just a beautiful warm room.

We were in heaven. The furniture was old world Italy. And the view...OMG ...looked out over a waterfall in to the pool and spa area.

This is a new area they just built. It's a must see !!

I forgot to ask what those room cost...FREE was good for us....LOL

Very nice trip. But I am back...so back to Christmas and painting.

and the most wonderful black gal paper doll ...along with fried chicken recipe...that you use almonds. ( I just do not eat nuts...but that is ok) I will treasure it just the same. I even got an additional ornie of Old Tom Turkey !
I got some wonder paper and cut out of wonderful vintage logos and dolls....as you can see. I had enough to make this wonderful Thanksgiving tree with all of them.

Grandson First Day at Pre-school

Made my Sister-in-Law Peach Cobbler

I have the most wonderful sister-in-law, her name is Alice....my Dh brother Nate's wife...7 years ago , Nate passed and Alice is all alone now. She and I have become very close ...even if she is 17 years older than me. She is not a crafter...but we still enjoy cruises and going to lunch and shopping together.

She hate to cook....so yesterday she talked me into making a peach cobbler for us to split...I have an "old family" recipe that was my mother's. So I whipped us up this yummy dessert.

Thought I would show my friends...Carm and Lisa...what I could make them if they lived closer.

See ya...got go eat some !! LOL

Grandson's ...California Pumpkin Patch Trip ...

I don't have any pictures ... hope to get some later....but this past weekend we took my 3 year old grandson to the Pumpkin Patch...Oh he had a ball...He rode a horse, went to the petting zoo ( goats, sheep, cows, and donkey) rode the pumpkin train, ate Cotton Candy, and Shaved ice ( which we needed...it was 102 degrees) And he shot the pumpkin air gun...that shoot little tiny pumpkins at bats and ghosts and old cars. He climbed the tractor sand hill....and went thru the corn field maze. Panned for gold and jewels. A raced on a tricyle speedway. He just loved it...Of course my DH and I were so tired.

Very good time....

Napa Valley...Rohnert Park Trip

Conference Trip - August 25th to 29th
My Dh Tom is a superintendent of road in our county....He buys all the equipment for the county , and is a member to Maintenance Supertintendent Assoc.

And every year we take a 4 or 5 day trip to different places.

He meets with different companies and learns about there new equipment he may need to purchase the coming year.

Or he takes a class on new laws , or about new chemicals he may also be using . Learns about tree problems...It is a very informative conference.

This year he took one of his general foremans and his wife along.

And of course where ever we are...the company big wigs...Wine and Dine us to get my DH to buy more from them next time....hopefully!

They send all the spouses out for special planned lunches and to sitesee or shop.

So this year this is what we did.Our trip was to Rohnert Park, California.

It is near Napa Valley, Ca., Sonoma, Healdsburg, Ca., Santa Rosa area.

We had a great time.

We stayed at the *Doubletree Hotel in Rohert Park, Ca.It was very very nice...Large rooms, and oversized bathroom, with big fluffy tons of pillows on the bed.

Patio with chairs over looking a golf course or atrium. We really enjoyed it....

First day was Monday , but we did not go until Tuesday the 26th this year..I had an appointment.

Now for the spousal outings... we boarded a very big bus...the first day they took us to *Napa Valley Wine Train...and we had a outstanding wine tasting and the a ride and lunch on the train ( Kelly MacDonald is their Executive Chef) It was a outstanding lunch and * beautiful tables.

The cost is a little expensive with lunch ...up to $149.00 per person. The food was very fancy...dessert was to die for...CHOCOLATE brownie cake ...with wine cherries !!

I was done ...

But then a little gift store stop... bought my grandson a train toy...he loves trains !

then ... we go back on our bus and next stop is at *Cline Winery in Sonoma, Ca.... we took a tour, I saw the grape crusher, and where they store the wine, they gave us a wonderful bottle of Cashmere Wine, very nice gift. Little wine tasting and off we went.

Back to the hotel...for an evening of "No host" bar hospitality ...here you can win prizes and eat goodies, ( like antispasto, fresh fruit, pastries) and have cocktails and meet new friends all out in the beautiful atrium courtyard.

After all that fun we got my hubby's general foreman Gordon and his wife Linda and head to River Rock Casino....which was fun. Linda use to live in Santa Rosa...so she knew the area well.

Then we drove back to hotel to go to the Hospitality suite to party more.

Yes...little more drinking...then well needed sleep.

What a first day. I am pooped !

OK...next day two we head out to the Charles M. Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa. I will have to take my granddaughter to see it...I know she will love it.

They gave us a treat and we on a wonderful trolley car bus ride , called * Rosie .

We gals are having a ball....LOL Very nice group of ladies.

Oh I took pics of *Charlie Brown and the gang...we had the tour...then we went to the gift shop. I bought my granddaughter a Snoopy doll and key ring.

Then it was back on Rosie and off to Healdburg, Ca... for a nice lunch at Center Street Cafe and Deli...kind of a Mel Diner type place.It was fun.

Then we all took off shopping and looking, they had fine art galleries, and Kendall-Jackson Wine tasting room, I checked out the Hand Fan Museum, even some nice second time shops to check out, but because it was 102 degrees in the shade, we opted to get a ice cream cone and sit in the park at the Town Plaza, and wait until time for Rosie to return for us.

Then it was back to the hotel....and just in time to get ready for a evening of more hospitality, yep your guessed it...No Host Bar again!

But this evening we were to be Wine and Dined by one of the big companies Execs...there were 10 of us invited. The name of the reastaurant we went to was Italian Affair...it was an old 1940's house turned into a restaurant.

We had more drinks, some wine, and some of the best food OMG ... calamari, shrimp, leg of lamb, steaks, and for dessert...Creme Brulee, Trimaisu ( hope I spelled everything correct ...LOL ) and more drinks...and coffee.

Oh what a night....They could have sold me anything....LOL

I was so full....

Well after that wonderful, I am sure very very expensive dinner...it was back to the hotel...and yes ( that's right) to the hospitality suite....No more drinks for me...OMG !

Now the next day was a free day...we went shopping on our own...and I has a wonderful hotel breakfast...and laid around our room...DH played golf.

And then we all got ready for the Banquet and No Host Cocktail Party in the Grand Ballroom for that evening.

Prime Rib, Salm,on on the menu.... I never ate so much on a trip....

We got semi dressed up...and there was a band that played 70's to now music...and we danced and drinked the night away...they had raffles gave away of $6,000 in prizes... and my DH won me a new 7.2 mega pixels Samsung digital camera. Yahoo !!!

I was so happy....LOL

Next we went to hospitality suite for a end of the evening...was very nice.

But I had to finally turn in....I am to old for this CRAP !

Next day we went to * Domaine Carneros Winery...OMG...I could live in a castle like this any day.

I told Lisa of Skunk Hollow about it...turns out she is a member of Domaine Carneros....Outstanding !.

Oh please Lisa....Take me there sometimes with ya...kiddo.....LOL

No kidding !!

A then we left and just went to sitesee for hours....Had nice brunch, stopped by a mall, got some lunch.

Next day was time to go home....as we left the Napa area...we drove thru Fairfield , California on Hwy 12 the way home and we saw the Train Museum...so we took our grandson back to it last weekend.

And took the train ride and saw all the old trains.

I just can't seem to stay off the trains...LOL He had a ball !!

Well that all about my trip....hope you enjoyed it.

I sure did...It seem to go fast, we met some very nice new friend and saw some of the old friend from other county's we see each year.Wish I had more pics...but if you see this ( * ) next to a place or word ...look for the pictures above....
I really enjoyed it...hope to go to Napa Valley area again...

Oh next year we are hosting the conference in Sacramento, California...Oh goodie !

What is a Simple Greeting Card....
One that is inexpensive, tell how you feel or make the person receiving the card feel great, thru just the the design or picture when they first see it .

Well we have something NEW on the block to have fun with ,
My DH says...women can never make up there minds...
What shoes to wear, put the sofa under the window or in the middle of the room?
Cook or not ?
Make the kids lunch , or buy them at school ?
Well women do have a lot of choices everyday...
I think we handle them just fine!
Because we always seem to get it correct in the in.
